Good for Nothing

Half a million to good causes

The Concept

Every year for a decade, we’re donating £50,000 of our time and thinking to those working for positive change in the world. It’s a Good thing to do.

We believe in the power of branding to transform. But you can believe until you’re blue in the face. Until you prove it, it’s just theory.

So we’re proving it. And at the same time, we’re helping people and causes who could never normally afford this sort of work. We’ve always wanted to do something like this. And these days – touch wood – we’re financially steady enough to do it.

The Winners

2016 was the first year of Good For Nothing. And it began in heart-breaking fashion. With over 40 mostly fantastic applications, how on Earth do you choose who to support? We went with democracy: the whole agency got involved, and we finally settled on two extraordinary causes.

An arts-based dementia support community in the Western Isles of Scotland and a charity working with and for the diverse communities of the Greater Govan area.

In both cases, we created simple, high-impact solutions the organisations can take forward independently. (Although we deliberately kept some budget in reserve for ongoing advice and support.)

Arora launched last year and the Govan Community Project launched in January.

We have opened the doors for 2017 entries so if you know of anyone who would benefit from our help, please urge them to send us their details via the link below. Closing date for entries is 31st March with the winner announced at the beginning of June.
